I-SS teachers rated our schools more favorably than state averages when assessing the impact of the pandemic on student learning. In addition, 89.3% of I-SS teachers believe that they are empowered to try new things to improve instruction. The vast majority of administrators in I-SS (94.83%) feel that the district has a clearly defined vision for all schools and 86.1% of administrators indicated that the central office provides support when needed. The district ranked well above the state average when it came to allowing teachers a large role in selecting instructional materials (11% over the state average), grading and assessment (13% over the state average), devising teaching techniques (6% over the state average), and school improvement planning (4% over the state average). Some 78.21 percent of teachers also indicated that they had access to a broad range of support personnel. Teachers (84.8%) indicated that their school is a great place to work and learn and 85% of teachers indicated they intend to continue working in the district next year. The district scored above the regional average in every area of the NCTWCS and above the state averages in seven out of 10 primary areas. ♦ New Teacher Supports How did Iredell-Statesville Schools stack up against the state and historical trends?Ī total of 91.6% of teachers in Iredell-Statesville Schools participated in the survey, with 19 schools having a 100% participation rate. The survey includes 12 sections, including ♦ Part-time, licensed school-based educators may also participate. ♦ All teachers and licensed school-based educators (teachers, administrators, media coordinators, counselors, etc.) in the state. Although the survey has shifted to an online platform, the statewide survey provides valuable information to the school, district, and state levels. The goal of this biennial survey is to capture anonymously the current teaching conditions in schools and the impact those conditions have on a teacher’s career.

The survey began as part of the North Carolina Governor’s Teacher Working Conditions Initiative, created through a process of research and review by the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards Commission (NCPTSC) and with the support of the North Carolina State Board of Education in 1999. The number in the parentheses is the number of files available for each letter.On June 1, the results from the latest North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions Survey (NCTWCS) were released.

In order to save server space and for easier downloads, these files have been stored in ZIP format compressed files by the first letter of the story name (we’re not sure on the exact name for some of these, so it’s an educated guess). These are denoted with a version number following the subject name. However, there were times that the script was modified or completely rewritten. Most of the time they were the exact same script. Often times Paul would do a revisit on the same subject. The reason why TROTS was unique was the fact that each story had a unique twist, and was “verified” to be true (though some question the validity of that statement). Following Paul’s death, Doug Limerick was chosen to be the show’s new host, but it was cancelled three weeks after Paul’s death. and were hosted by either Paul, or in later years by Paul Jr. TROTS stories were written by Paul Harvey Jr. T hese were normally pre-recorded well in advance, while the daily morning and noon news was recorded earlier in the day (with the exception of the Saturday news which was recorded usually the Friday before). they are approxmiately 3 minutes and 45 seconds long. This was followed by a 30 second commercial and then the story itself. Each broadcast started with “ You know what the news is, in a minute you’re going to hear the REST of the STORY”. This usually aired Monday through Friday of each week in the early to late afternoon, and sometimes was repeated in the early evening. The Rest of the Story (aka “TROTS”) had been a staple of Paul Harvey from the time it was introduced in May 1976 through Paul Harvey’s death in February 2009. We don’t know if we have every single episode that Paul ever did – but we’re sure it’s darn close! The Paul Harvey Unofficial Archives has over 3000 episodes of The Rest of the Story.
